SUBSIDIES FOR PERTH
, The Trotting Conference has Just been advised that the western Australian Trotting Association is prepared to subsi-! dise up to seven selected horses! ! r “ m „ Xew Zealand for the| inter Dominion Championships' to be held at Perth next Feb- i ruary. The conference thought that* only three New Zealand horses, would be subsidised by the as-1 sociation and had announced : that it would grant an addi tional subsidy of £6OO to each i of the three horses. In view of the more liberal allowance from Australia, the ) emergency committee will meet on Thursday to consider recommending to the executive that I the New Zealand subsidies be redistributed on a more equitable basis so as to ensure a wider representation of New Zealand horses. As it is necessary to obtain I a minimum of six horses for a' chartered plane, the New Zea-! land subsidies probably will be; directed towards defraying the cost of such transport.* 4
