TRIAL OF SPECK
Special Jury Selected
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) CHICAGO, Nov. 29. A jury of seven men and five women was selected yesterday to determine whether Richard Speck is mentally competent to stand trial on charges of murdering eight young nurses.
The jury was selected, in spite of strenuous objections from Speck’s lawyer, who said he accepted the decision of a panel of psychiatrists that the 24-year-old Texas drifter can understand the charges against him.
