Johnson Makes Promise

CANBERRA, Nov. 28. America would stand by Australia’s side as long as f-eedom was being challenged and peace was being threatened, President Johnson said today. The President made his promise in a telegram in which he congratulated the Prime Minister. Mr Holt, on his election victory. “The world has taken note of the great vote of confidence given you by your countrymen on Saturday,” he said. “Your gallant men and ours are grateful for the courageous and far-sighted leadership that you are providing in the Pacific and in Asia. “We know we stand with a man of conviction, integrity and wisdom.
“We know we stand with a friend.”
Satellite Launched.— Russia yesterday launched another artificial earth satellite to study the upper atmosphere —the 133rd in the Cosmos series. The Tass news agency said the sputnik was functioning normally.—Moscow, November 29. ...,
