Charity Show Tomorrow
The New Zealand Magic Circle will give a charity concert in the Civic Theatre, Christchurch, tomorrow afternoon. A similar concert was given by the circle for the first time last year. The 1965 show was a big success, and it was expected there would be nearly a full house this year, a committee member of the circle, Mr D. H. Wallace, said.
Old people, orphans, and children from homes were invited to attend the concert, 'which would include magic and variety acts performed by Christchurch entertainers.
Sweets and gifts given by Christchurch business firms would be distributed to the children. After the concert, which was expected to last for more than two hours, the magicians and their friends would attend a dinner at a restaurant, Mr Wallace said.
