Young Batsman Scores 86 n.o.
(N Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. The young Hutt Valley batsman, B. D. Smith, strengthened his claim to a place in the Wellington Plunket Shield team by scoring 86 not out against Wellington at the Basin Reserve yesterday. Hutt Valley took a first innings lead in the drawn match.
For Wellington, L. C. Butler took five wickets for 37 off 40 overs.
