Minister Flies To Uganda
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, November 24. Mrs Judith Hart, Minister of State at the Commonwealth Office, left London yesterday by air for Uganda to confer with President Milton Obote and his Ministers on the Rhodesian independence crisis and Britain’s next moves.
Britain plans to seek compulsory selective economic sanctions against Rhodesia through the United Nations, failing some positive moves
by the white Rhodesian regime to end its "rebellion.” Uganda and Nigeria are the two African Commonwealth nations on the Security Council.
Mr Malcolm Macdonald, Britain’s Special Envoy in East and Central Africa, has already had talks with the Nigerian Government and conferred with Government leaders in Ghana, Kenya, and Uganda. Mrs Hart is expected to stay three days in Uganda.
