Canterbury.—Moderate north-easterlies at times about the coast; otherwise north-westerlies becoming strong in exposed places; rain at times in the Alps; elsewhere partly cloudy with isolated showers; mild. Outlook: mainly fair. Marlborough and Nelson.—North-west winds, strong near Cook Strait and fresh in other exposed areas; cloudy and mild with scattered rain developing in the Nelson district in the middle of the day and spreading to Marlborough. Outlook; showery at times in the west; partly cloudy elsewhere.
