Market Rally Keeps Momentum
The market kept up its momentum yesterday, as rises continued to outnumber falls by seven to one on above-average turn-over. The range of trading was very wide. The overseas list was in balance.
Most movements were small, but N.Z. Newspapers at 32s 3d, firmed Is 9d and N.Z. Refining, at 47s 6d, gained Is 6d. Associated British Cables rose another 6d to 18s 6d, and Wright Stephenson recovered 6d to 15s 2d. Rises of 6d each were also recorded by Allen Industries, at 17s 9d, Feltex at 28s 3d, Neill Cropper, at 23s 6d, and Winstone new shares, at 37s 6d. Sea Products, at 4s 2d, and South British Insurance, at 30s, lost Id each.
