Final Concert
The Liederkranzehen will give its final concert for this year in the Christchurch Boys’ High School Assembly Hall this evening. The programme, mainly sacred music, includes Pergolesi’s “Stabat Mater,” the cantata “A Christmas Garland” by George Dyson, and smaller works. Soloists from the choir are Ngaire Johnston, Beryl Gough, Grace Harrall and Betty Powell. Sonata in E minor for violin and piano will be played by Clifton Cook and Brian Kinley. This will be the Liederkranzchen’s last concert given under Mr Cook, who is resigning as conductor.
