Quiet Little Spot
Crtpdt. N.Z.P.AJ SYDNEY, Not. 22. A police station that was never meant to exist is to elose because there is not enough work to justify its existence. The station is at Wvndham (population 200) on the far south coast of New South Males. Local legend has it that the station, built about 70 years ago, was intended for wingham, on the State's north coast, but came south through a clerical error. Wyndham’s one policeman. Constable Jim Stubbs, is to be transferred to Eden, 30 miles away. Last year Constable Stubs’s work entailed attending one road accident, laying four charges, and making two reports on breaches of the law. “It’s a quiet little spot,” he said.
