Smugglers Shot On Sight
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter) DACCA. I Twelve alleged smugglers have been shot on sight and others given public whippings since measures were tightened in the summer to stop the disappearance of grain over East Pakistan’s borders into India, the provincial governor has reported. As the province prepared to harvest the autumn crop—already hit by storms—the governor announced that coastal waters and rivers would be sealed off by highspeed army craft carrying machine-guns.
