Gore Appeal Dismissed
(N.Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL. An appeal by Mr J. B. Brown, the owner of Bellburn which was relegated from first to fourth in the Kalwera Handicap at Gore on October 22, against the relegation was dismissed by the Southland district committee yesterday. Evidence was heard from Mr Brown, and also from Mr J. M. McCullough, chief stipendiary steward at the meeting. The committee decided that the decision of the Gore judicial committee should stand and the appeal was accordingly dismissed. The committee also decided that Mr Brown’s deposit of £lO be refunded, but that be required to pay witnesses’ expenses. RACES AT RICCABTON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 10, 1966.
