Youth Given Gaol Term
(N.Z. Press Association) HASTINGS, Nov. 22. Brian Mark Williams, aged 19, who hit a police sergeant with a screwdriver and a jemmy while trying to escape from a burglary, was sent to gaol by Mr W. K. L. Dougall, S.M., today for three years. Williams appeared for sentence on a charge of assaulting the sergeant, Richard John Bryant, with intent to avoid arest Williams threw the tools at the sergeant in a Waipukurau liquor store early in the morning of October 11.
