A winning raffle ticket has brought two airline employees from Montreal to New Zealand. They are Miss Jacqueline Riviere, of Air France, and Miss Annie de Nil, of the Belgian airline, Sabena. Both are secretaries to the managers of their airlines in Montreal.

Inter-airline clubs existed throughout the world, the girls said, and their club in Montreal occasionally raffled air tickets to other countries.

Every trip was sponsored by a different airline. Their trip had been sponsored by Air New Zealand and 8.0.A.C. “It was a very popular raffle because New Zealand was so far away,” said Miss Riviere. The Air New Zealand service delighted the girls—they found the hostesses very friendly and the food delicious. They have saved their menus to show their friends at home.

While in New Zealand they will visit Mount Cook and Rotorua. “I want to see some Maoris—and some examples of Maori craftsmanship, said Miss Riviere.

Both girls are keenly interested in the kiwi and hope to see one in the Auckland Zoo. Miss Riviere is from Paris and Miss de Nil from Brussels. They manage to go home twice a year.

“Paris looks much younger after its recent scrub-up,” said Miss Riviere.

“Everything in Europe is so small after America,” said Miss de Nil. “In America, it is nothing to travel 100 miles, but back home 100 miles is quite a journey.”
