VIENNA, November 21.
The Soviet President. Nikolai
Podgorny, said yesterday the Soviet Union would step up its support of the Vietnamese people in military, economic and political fields.
Mr Podgomy, on an official visit to this neutral country,
did not elaborate on the increase of aid.
He said: “No matter what escalation of the war Washington will scheme, the aggressor will have to leave Vietnam.” In a radio and television address on the eve of his departure after a one-week stay, Mr Podgorny again warned his hosts against any arrangement with the six-nation Common Market. It was the third such warning. Mr Podgorny said he repeated it “so that there can be no misunderstanding as to the Soviet stand on it.”
Mr Podgorny said such an arrangement sought byAustria would conflict with the country’s neutrality. Mr Podgorny also renewed attacks on West Germany. He claimed: “Forces there are becoming more and more active which aim at a revision of the results of the last war.”
