VIETNAM TEACHERS
Dismissal In U.S. (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) WASHINGTON, Nov. 19. The United States Army confirmed today it had ordered two South Vietnamese citizens dismissed from teaching languages at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The case apparently involved either international politics or international security. A lawyer for one of the Vietnamese described the dismissals as a “colossal blunder” and charged that the Army was acting under orders from the South Vietnamese Premiere, General Ky, when it dismissed Colonel Nguyen Khuong and Mrs Phan Loc Thao.
Mr David Carliner, the lawyer representing Colonel Khuong and a board member of the American Civil Liberties Union, said both Colonel Khuong and Mrs Thao—while strong anti-Communists—do not agree with all of Premier Ky’s political views but have not engaged in any political action against the regime.
