Appointment to the positions of teaching fellow and senior tutor/tutor will be initially for one year, with prospects of renewal on an annual basis for the teaching fellow the maximum period of renewal will be for three years. Applicants for appointment as senior tutor or tutor must have an honours degree. Applicants for the senior tutorship must also have extensive teaching experience, preferably at the tertiary level. The appointee will have a full-time programme of tutorials mainly to first year students and mainly in Languages. The successful applicant for the leaching fellowship, who ■Mlft have a good honours degree, will carry out research for a higher degree and will have some teaching duties. Preference will be given to applicants with special qualifications in Language. For appointment as lecturer, applicants must have a higher degree, and a record of publication or experience in teaching English Literature at the ter tiary level will be a distinct advantage. H Davis, Bursar. 2799 UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF TOWNSVILLE SENIOR DEMONSTRATOR IN PHYSICS THE University of Queensland invites applications for the position of Senior Demonstrator in Physics. Applicants should have a Science Degree with Physics as a major subject or appropriate Mathematical or Electrical Engineering qualifications with demonstrating experience and preferably some teaching experience. The appointee will be required to assist the lecturing staff in the supervision of teaching laboratories, particularly Physics 1, to conduct laboratory and tutorial classes and generally to assist in the teaching, examining and other work of the Department. Facilities for research to proceed towards a higher degree are available and preference will be given to an applicant with this intention. The salary range for Senior Demonstrator is 3800 dollars—s x 100—4300 dollars per annum. A northern allowance of 60 dollars per annum will also be payable.
