Warship’s Visit
Captain R. L. Eveleigh, commanding officer of H.M.S. Leander, has written to the chairman of the Lyttelton Harbour Board (Mr L. G. Amos), expressing appreciation of the hospitality shown when the anti-submarine frigate visited Lyttelton. The ship’s officers and company had happy memories of an enjoyable visit because of the warmth of the welcome in Lyttelton and Christchurch, Captain Eveleigh said.
