OLD PEOPLE’S HOMES
Survey Of Waiting Lists Urgent and semi-urgent waiting lists for religious and welfare homes for the aged in Christchurch are being surveyed by the Christchurch Aged People’s Welfare Council. The secretary of the council (Mrs M. E. Lawrie) said yesterday that the survey was being made by registered nurses experienced in social work.
It was important that waiting lists be surveyed from time to time, she said. They provided up-to-date information enabling an accurate forecast of the need for such homes in Christchurch. The last survey was held about three years ago.
