Supply Stopped
fX Z. Press Association)
DUNEDIN, Nov. 11
A battle between the Public Service Investment Society and manufacturers appears to be about to begin.
The Dominion Radio and Electrical Corporation. a subsidiary of Charles Begg and Company, has refused to supply goods to the society’s stores.
A large Auckland manufacturer of domestic appliances is also considering refusing supply.
It is believed the society will invoke the Trades Practices Act to protect its interests if manufacturers combine to halt the expansion of the society’s activities.
Officials of Charles Begg and Company met in Wellington today to discuss the position.
