Reduction To 12 Months

WELLINGTON, Nov. 10.
Unmarried soldiers serving with New Zealand’s force in South Vietnam are to have their period of service reduced from 15 months to 12 months.
This was announced by the Minister of Defence (Mr Eyre). The Minister said the period of service reduction would apply not only to servicemen shortly leaving for Vietnam but also to those who left New Zealand over the last few months on the basis of a 15-month tour of duty.
