The Minister of Electricity (Mr Shand) tonight said it was unforgiveable that the Labour Party, if elected to office, would “welsh on New Zealand’s moral obligations in Vietnam.” “I tremble at the thought that New Zealand would ever have a government prepared to denounce an agreement for collective security at a time they were called upon to implement it,” he said. “You don’t have to love the Americans if you don’t want to, but it’s about time people in this country saw things in the proper perspective.”
