Laymen “Just Beginning”
(N.Z. Press Association) • WELLINGTON, Nov. 7. The president of the Association of Presbyterian Laymen (Mr R. J. Wardlaw) today denied a report that the association may disband. “On the contrary, we feel that this is just the beginning and that the association has already shown how effective concerned men of the Church, united in this fash ion, can be in introducing an extra note of democracy into Presbyterian Church life,” he said. The association was sure this statement would reassure the more than 5000 Presbyterians who signed the petition to the General Assembly.
