TRAINER CLEARED
(N.Z. Press Associotiont AUCKLAND A charge of corrupt practice, brought against the Takamni trainer, R. J. Wallace, was dismissed by the judicial committee of the Whangarel Racing Club at Ellerslie on Saturday The inquiry had been 'ad journed from the previous Saturday, when the club raced at Ellerslie.
The charge was brought by the senior stipendiary steward. Mr J. A. Poulsen. It was alleged that the jockey, .M. V Coon, had been induced to make a false statement regarding his availability to ride Prince Heroic, from the Wallace stable in the Parua Bay High-weight, and also that Wallace had made a false statement to Mr Poulsen.
The committee said the charges were perhaps .as sen ous as any in the Rules nf Racing. It was of the opinion that the evidence heard fell short of the conclusive proof required in a charge of this nature.
