Decrease In Methodists

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 6. For the first time in 20 years there has been a decrease in the membership of the Methodist Church in New Zealand, the Rev. W. C. Jenkin told the Methodist conference. A total of 78 members have joined other denominations, and 344 members have ceased to attend.

After taking into account deaths and 994 members who have joined the church during the year, the total membership at June 30 was 32,709 — a net loss of 40.
