Old Collegians In Clear Lead A sodden pitch at Ham, where East-Shirley was playing WestUniversity. helped Old Collegians A to a clear lead in the senior B cricket competition. Only four hours of play was possible at Ham and EastShirley’s failure to win outright gave Old Collegians A a fivepoint lead. These two teams will meet next week. Old Collegians A took an hour and a half to finish Hagley Old Boys' second Innings. Its strong and varied attack again prevented Hagley from reaching 100. East-Shirley scored quickly in its second innings, with J. C. Alabaster again setting the example, but West-University could not score 162 in more than three hours.
Old Collegians B made a better showing in its second innings against High School Old Boys and the latter was held to a first-innings win. Points are:—Old Collegians A 31, East-Shirley 26, Hagley Old Boys . 13, West-University, H. 5.0.8. 8, Old Collegians B 2.

East-Shirley 157 and 99/4 decl. (J. C. Alabaster 49, J. W. GroCott 25, J. D. Capstick 20 not out; G. B. Wain 2/16) beat WestUniversity 95 and 117/5 (C. W. Garrod 43, R. K. Allen 26, R. L. McHarg 21 not out; N. Kelly 4/40) on the first innings. H. 5.0.8. 106 and 160/6 decl. (J. G. Leggat 58) beat Old Collegians B 70 and 125/3 (D. A. Pickering 60, J. Thomson 37) on the first Innings.
