FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—A frontal zone is moving northeastwards across the North Island. A depression west of New Zealand is moving slowly eastwards. Forecast: Central Marlborough and Nelson.—Light variable winds, mainly from a northerly quarter; partly cloudy and mild, with a few scattered showers. Marlborough Sounds and Kaikoura coast.— Light to moderate variable winds; partly cloudy and cool, with scattered showers. Buller and Westland. —Light to moderate easterly winds; cloudy with scattered showers; mild during the day. Canterbury.—Light to moderate north-easterly winds; cloudy and cool, with scattered drizzle areas. Outlook: All districts.—Unsettled with scattered showers.
