“Entitled To Bite Ear”
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY. Six members of the touring Australian Rugby team have supported R. Cullen’s version of the ear-biting incident which led to his expulsion from the team, according to Geoff Prenter in the Sydney “Sun” yesterday. Prenter said that the Wallabies had told their version of the incident in letters to Queensland officials.
“The Queensland delegate to the Australian Rugby Union (Mr W. McLean) said six Wallabies had written to him telling him exactly what went on ip the scrum which started the rumpus,” Prenter wrote.
“Mr McLean said each had agreed that Cullen was entitled to do what he did.”
