FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.— A cold front is moving northwards over northern parts of the North Island and a ridge of high pressure is advancing across the South Tasman Sea on to southern New Zealand. Forecast: Canterbury.—Moderate southerly winds; weather partly cloudy and cool. The Kaikoura Coast and Marlborough Sounds. —Fresh to strong southerlies slowly moderating. Scattered light showers but fair intervals increasing during the day; cool temperatures. Central Marlborough, Nelson, Buller and Westland.—Light south-westerly winds: weather fine but cool.
