NUCLEAR PHYSICS
University Chair (N.Z. tress Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 1. Victoria University has deeded to establish a chair of mclear physics, after a report by the Vice-Chancellor (Dr. J. Williams) that the Minister of Science (Mr Talboys) has approved a grant <rf £2OOO a year to enable the university to appoint a professor.
Dr. Williams said the grant would begin when the professor took up his appointment and end in March, 1970. The university would co-operate in research with the Nuclear Research Institute, which the Government was establishing at Gracefield. It was agreed that the university meet the whole expense after March, 1970, he said.
