METHODIST CENTRE
Suggested Functions A centre to care for old people during the week, a meeting place for the Maori community, a creche available six days a week, a coffee club, and a centre for study, dancing and music are among suggestions for the Durham Street Methodist Church’s centre to be opened next April, the Rev. S. W. Dawson says in his weekly church bulletin. The suggestions come from a meeting of church members called to discuss the kind of programme which should be mounted in the new centre. The meeting agreed that the centre should provide a meeting place for church groups and'a variety of “out group” activities for young and old, Mr Dawson said. Ideally, the centre should be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., or a.m. to 10.30 p.m. daily. The. cafeteria should provide tea or coffee, morning and afternoon, with light meals at mid-day and at tea time, Mr Dawson said.
