Condition Poor But Faint Hope

The condition of the severed hand, grafted on to an eight-year-old boy's arm in the Christehurth Hospital on Saturday, was reported yesterday to be poor. The hand was still surviving and there was still a faint hope of the operation being successful. The boy. Richard Lentjes, aged 8. son of Mr and Mrs A. J. Lentjes, of Brookside, was in a satisfactory condition. His hand was severed when he fell into a farm mower on Saturday.
