Price Increases
Sir, —“A. B. Cedarian” is worried that Labour supporters heed my call to vote. Well he might be! Your correspondent admits there has been a price spiral, but blames it initially on Labour. Somehow I was under the impression that National promised tc remedy the misdemeanours of the Labour Government in 1960 and again in 1963. As nothing has been done till
now, 1966, it can again be trotted out if housewives are gullible enough to accept it. For “A. B. Cedarian’s” information, I have been oversized for the last 40 years. Not even the capitalist-inspir-ed depression affected me. However, let me assure your correspondent that “It is better to have a large stomach than a small intellect.” The Labour Party will contain the Federation of Labour just as effectively as Harold Wilson has done in Britain. Can National contain the Associated Chambers of Commerce? —Yours etc. TOM BRYCE. October 31,1966.
