Talic Shows Speed In Half-Mile Sprint

Talic. a failure in the Wellington Guineas, when track conditions did not suit him, could do better against the open sprinters on the second day of the North Canterbury meeting on Mondav.

He ran the fastest half-mile of the training (47 4-ssecs) on the trial grass at Riccarton yesterday. He was kicked out to take a short lead over his stablemate. Royal Blue, near the furlong, but this run still had its merits as a trial for the North Canterbury Handicap. D. N. Hadfield was engaged as his race rider yesterday morning. The apprentice, G. R.
