Stores
A minimum wage of £l5 13s 4d a week, an increase of 21s Bd, will be paid to permanent workers in Canterbury wool, grain, hide, and manure stores as a result of a new award made by the Court of Arbitration. The award is effective from September 7. Shift workers will be paid a minimum of £l6 13s 4d a week, an increase of 18s Casual workers will get an increase of 6)d an hour. An addition to the paid holidays is the day after New Year’s Day or a day off in lieu.
Wool classers will be supplied with smocks.
