Slide Continues On Active Market
Continuing its slide, the market again lost ground in active trading yesterday. Falls again outnumbered rises five to one, and key stocks followed the same trend. Turn-overs were high, but the range narrow.
There were some sharp falls. N.Z. Petroleum lost Is to 3s, Skellerup Is to 48s, Spedding Is to 16s, and Claude Neon Is to 425. Neill Cropper was marked down lOd to 22s lid. Refining at 43s and Feltex at 28s each lost another 6d.
In the overseas list Ampol lost Id to 5s sd, but Burns Philp recovered Is of its recent decline and Colonial Sugar Refining 3d to 23s 9d. McKendrick new rose 3d to 7s 6d, New Zealand Breweries 2d to 13s 3d and New Zealand Sea Products at 4s 6d firmed Id.
