Severe Set-back On N.Z. Share Market
Share trading in New Zealand suffered another severe set-back yesterday as falls outnumbered rises five to one. Turnovers were average, but the range was narrow. Key stocks also fared badly. McKendricks at 7s 6d and New Zealand Newspapers at 31s 9d each rose 3d. New Zealand Breweries at 13s Id and New Zealand Sea Products at 4s 5d each added Id. Woolworths firmed 4d to 10s 4d in the overseas list. Prominent among falls was Tasman with a Is drop to 50s 9d and N.Z. Forests 2d down to 21s Id. Dunlop lost more ground with a Is 3d fall to 31s 6d. N.Z. Insurance at 23s slipped 6d and South British lost Id to 30s 6d. United Empire Box declined further with a Id loss to 10s Id.
