Renewal Of Lease Asked
| The Canterbury' Chamber of Commerce transferred £2209 to its office modernisation reserve and building fund during the year, said its honorary treasurer (Mr J. M. Tocker) at the chamber's annual meeting yesterday. “People might think that this was to hide profit.” he [said. “But we will probably need every penny of that and ia lot more to modernise the chamber’s offices and to buy I new equipment if we get our | lease renewed.” I The chamber had opened ! negotiations with the City [Council for renewal of the 'lease when it expired next I year. Mr Tocker said that £7OOO was in the investment account. Mr R. E. Smith, was elected president, and Mr E. J. Parry, vice-president.
