Withdrawal By Burma (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, October 18. Burma has withdrawn from the sterling area, the British Treasury confirmed in London last night. The Treasury statement said that since June, Britain had pressed Burma in vain to end practices regarded as inimical to the fair working of the sterling area financial system.
