N.Z. PART IN BANGKOK FAIR

Forty-four New Zealand exhibitors would take part in the First Asian International Trade Fair in Bangkok from November 17 to December 10, said an officer of the Overseas Trade Division of the Department of Industries and Commerce (Mr B. J. Grimstone) in Christchurch yesterday. Eleven were from the South Island, he said.

Mr Grimstone will spend six weeks in Bangkok as a memeber of the staff of the New Zealand stand in the Hall of Nations.

He is visiting the South Island to gain knowledge of the factories and products of the South Island exhibitors. The Christchurch exhibits will include a tube-bending machine, a jet unit and engine, venison, paint brushes, electrical equipment, working pumps and patent bolts.

The designer of the New Zealand stand and a display expert would go to Bangkok next week to prepare and assemble the stand to ensure a high standard. Mr Grimstone said that E.C.A.F.E. regional trade promotion talks were being held in conjunction with the fair. The delegation from New Zealand to the fair would attend the talks. Several Christchurch businessmen would be among them.
