LEESTON SHOW
Preparations Completed
The first stage of an extensive programme of renewals and alterations to the sheep pens had been completed, said the president, Mr D. G. McClure, in reporting on work carried out in preparation for the annual show next Saturday at a meeting of the management committee of the Ellesmere Agricultural and Pastoral Association. He thanked members who had helped at many voluntary working parties held at the show ground.
A marked increase in entries in the pig section, it was reported, had made it necessary to provide additional pen accommodation. Seventeen new members elected included three juniors. An application from the committee of the Ellesmere Boys’ and Girls’ Agricultural Clubs for permission to hold the clubs’ annual show at the association’s grounds was granted.
