THE MAORI QUEEN. —Queen Te Ata on the Turangawaewae marae, Ngaruawahia, last Saturday, when she made her first public appearance since the death of her father, King Koroki. Beside her is her husband, Mr Te Whatu Moana. More than 6000 Maoris attended functions on the marae during the week-end to pay respect to the memory of King Koroki. The date for Queen Te Ata’s coronation has not yet been fixed.
