Mars N. Wins At Long Odds

The race was won by the 35/1 outsider another former New Zealand horse, Mars N., which beat Vicar Hanover by a head after pacing the mile in 2min 02s ec. Peerswick and Mars N. raced head and head over the last quarter and the outsider, driven by H. Belli, hugging the rails, ran on a shade better. Vicar Hanover, coming fast at the finish, beat Peerswick, driven by S. Dancer, by a nose.
