Retirement Next Year f.V.Z. Press Association) MASTERTON. The New Zealand mare. Chantal, was expected to go to the stud next year, her owner. Mis® L. Jameson, said yesterday. Miss Jameson said Chantal would finish her racing career in Australia this season and then be retired to the stud at Masterton. Chantal was withdrawn from next Saturday’s Caulfield Cup after she was penalised 71b for winning the Epso-rn Handicap at Sydney on October 1. Miss Jameson said the mare would be saved for mile events and welghtrfor-age races during the rest of her Australian campaign.
