POUND GAINS STRENGTH
Firmer On All Currencies Ground was gained by the pound last week, according to the latest telegraphic transfer exchange rates from the Bank of New South Wales yesterday. Giving nothing away to any currency, advances were made on the United States and Canadian dollars, French francs, Italian lire, Japanese yen, Dutch guilders, Norwegian crowns and Swiss francs. The pound was unchanged on Austrian schillings, Belgian francs, Danish and Swedish crowns and West German marks.
