N.Z. Forest Products At Lowest Price Of Year
Dothistroma pini, a needle-cast fungus mentioned in the last annual report, seems to be upsetting market confidence in N.Z. Forest Products, and the shares yesterday slid Is 6d to 20s 9d to the lowest point this year.
N.Z. Forest Products was the feature of a market continuing a downward trend. Tum-overs were good, but the range was narrow. Falls outnumbered rises more than two to one, with sellers again well in evidence. Key stocks led the decline.
Fletcher at 18s 3d, New Zealand Breweries at 13s 4d, and McKendrick at 7s 4d each lost 2d. Refining eased 4d to 44s Bd. Tasman fell Is 6d to 54s 6d in sympathy with N.Z. Forest Products. United Empire Box lost Id to 10s 3d, and Woolworths 2d to 10s lOd. B.H.P. dropped another 3d to 49s 3d, and Colonial Sugar Refining Is 6d to 23s 9d.
