More Burglaries During Week-end
More thefts and burglaries committed during the week-end were reported to the Christchurch police yesterday. Money and goods to the value of £l3O were stolen.
When the office of Hobbs and Corbett, barristers and solicitors, 81 Hereford street, was broken into on Saturday night £25 was stolen. The
same night £2 was stolen from the premises of the Derby Clothing Company, 93A Cashel street, when they were broken into. A window was smashed in the Tavern Tea Rooms, Oxford terrace, and £1 was stolen. The Linwood Intermediate School was entered, but nothing was stolen. A house in Clearbrook street was also entered, and nothing stolen. Property valued at £l3 waa taken from a house in Wordsworth street, and a transistor radio valued at £29 was taken from a house in Hay street. Clothing valued at £33 10s was taken from a house in Hastings street. A bottle of whisky and a bowser, valued at £4 15s, were stolen from the Gresham Hotel, in Cashel street. Property valued at £22 was stolen from Conron Products, Ltd., 185 Bower avenue, when its premises were broken into.
