(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. A urine sample taken from Blue Lodge after he won the Avondale Cup on September 3 has proved positive to the drug theobromine. The owner-trainer of Blue Lodge, Mr L. A. Donald, said yesterday he had been told that by the Auckland racecourse inspector, Mr C. Dudley. Blue Lodge, a nine-year-old, is one of two horses owned and trained by Mr Donald, who comes from Warea, in Taranaki. The other is Warea Boy. Both horses are stabled at Ellerslie. Blue Lodge was an outsider in the Avondale Cup, the richest race of the spring season in Auckland, paying £2B 13s for a win and £7 6s 6d for a place. The winner’s share of the stake was £1960 and a gold cup valued at £lOO. Star Belle In Stakes “The Press” Special Service AUCKLAND. The good Takanini filly, Star Belle, will travel to Hastings today for the Gold Trail Stakes on the first day of the Hawke's Bay Jockey Club’s spring meeting on Saturday.
