HOME FOR AGED

Wing Nearing Completion The wing being added to the Archer Memorial Home. Colombo street, for elderly women, will be completed at th end of this month and will be fo-mally opened by the president of the CanterburyW tland Baptist Association (the Rev. A. H. Mac Led) on October 15.

The wing, tenders for which were called in February, will accommodate nine more residents and additional staff. When completed, the home will accommodate 23 persons.

A Government subsidy of £lB,OOO was received for the wing.

The lounge and diningroom have been enlarged and the kitchen has been renovated. Features of the new wing are an enclosed courtyard and communication system. The home is vested in the Baptist Union of New Zealand, which through a board, acts as trustee. The board is responsible to the CanterburyWestland Baptist Association.
