MOVING TO BELGIUM
Headquarters Of N.A.T.O. (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter —Copyright) PARIS. Sept. 14. The North Atlantic Council today formally approved the decision to move the N.A.T.O.’s supreme headquarters from the Paris area to Casteau in Belgium. A N.A.T.O. communique said: “Every effort will be made to enable the headquarters to operate at Casteau as soon as possible.” The decision was made yesterday by 14 of the N.A.T.O. allies, excluding France, which has ordered the headquarters to be moved from French soil by next April. The full council met today to give final approval for the move to the wooded agricultural area about 35 miles south-west of Brussels. The new headquarters is expected to cost 42 million dollars with sharing still to be settled.
